Anomaly Detected Controls Guide

Why controls decide wipes

Anomaly Detected (Roblox listing often shown as Anomaly Watch, place 15694887572) is not a combat shooter. You win by surviving until 6 AM with clean Report Tablet submissions—especially Intruders. If your fingers hunt for the tablet key while threat sits on Evident, the run dies to muscle memory, not “bad luck.”

This Controls guide is the input sheet for House, Office, and Church. Watch the embedded Office DuoMobile walkthrough for mobile-relevant UI and dual-player pacing, then drill the binds below until they feel boring. Pair this page with How to Play for systems and Getting Started for first-night habits.

Always re-check the live Roblox experience description after patches—keybind text there wins if a silent remap ships.

House controls (learn these first)

House is where you install tablet fluency before darkness or Church density.

ActionInput
Report Tablet (PC)R
Report Tablet (Mobile)Side on-screen button

PC House tips

  • Keep your left hand ready to tap R the instant someone calls an Intruder.
  • Practice opening and closing the tablet twenty times in a quiet None-threat lobby until you stop looking at the keyboard.
  • Do not bind mental energy to sprint habits yet—House teaches observation, not parkour.

Mobile House tips

  • Find the side button before the first anomaly appears. Thumb travel time is a wipe tax.
  • Stabilize your grip so the tablet button is reachable while you still pan the camera.
  • On small screens, pause camera motion for half a second before classifying Missing vs Extra—mis-taps waste more time than a short stop.

Full House routing lives in the House walkthrough. Power blackouts and basement boxes are covered in Power Outage.

Office controls (flashlight + mobility)

Office adds darkness and movement tools. Misusing them is how players sprint past Missing Objects.

ActionInput
FlashlightF (or gamepad B)
SprintLeft Shift (or gamepad R1)
Exit reporterJump

Flashlight discipline

  • Toggle F when you stop to inspect a desk cluster—not while you are full-sprinting a hallway.
  • Sweep corners deliberately for Strange Light and silhouette Intruders; frantic strobing blinds teammates in co-op.
  • If threat is Vague or Evident, prioritize Intruder angles with the beam before object nitpicks.

Sprint discipline

  • Use Left Shift in short bursts to close distance to a safe report angle.
  • Never hold sprint through an entire floor—your eyes stop comparing baselines.
  • After a sprint, plant feet, open tablet if needed, then move again.

Exit reporter (Jump)

Office players commonly get stuck staring at the report UI after a submission panic. Jump exits the reporter so you can rejoin Intruder coverage. Drill that exit the same way you drill R—it is a survival bind, not a parkour flourish.

Office layout notes: Office walkthrough.

Church and shared reporting fantasy

Church uses the same reporting fantasy as House with denser rooms. Expect longer routes, stricter role discipline, and less forgiveness for slow tablet opens—especially in hardmode. There is no unique “Church-only” combat bind; the skill check is input speed plus wing routing. Study Church walkthrough after House and Office feel automatic.

Hardmode tightens the same controls further: earlier Intruder pressure (community cue around ~1 AM for Tall Figure aggression) means your R / side-button reflex must already be instant. Details: Hardmode.

Co-op input etiquette

Controls are personal, but callouts are shared:

  1. Intruder lead speaks first and opens tablet immediately.
  2. Cover watches flanks while the reporter submits—do not all open menus at once.
  3. Call room + class (“Hall Intruder,” “Kitchen Missing”) so the reporter does not guess.
  4. After Jump-exiting the reporter on Office, announce “back on eyes” so the meter caller knows coverage resumed.
  5. Mobile players should say “tablet up” when their side button is occupied so PC teammates do not assume silence means AFK.

Practice drills (ten minutes each)

  1. House R spam: open/close tablet without looking down.
  2. Mobile side-button reach: hold camera pan while hitting the button on cue from a friend.
  3. Office F cadence: walk a dark loop toggling flashlight only at stops.
  4. Sprint bursts: Left Shift for two seconds, stop, scan, repeat—no continuous hold.
  5. Jump exit: enter reporter, submit a practice class, Jump out, reorient camera toward a hallway.
  6. Interrupt drill: mid object count, friend yells “Intruder”—you must hit tablet and select Intruder without finishing the object thought.

Common control mistakes

  • Hunting the mobile side button for the first time at Evident.
  • Holding Office sprint so long that Strange Lights and Missing shelves vanish into motion blur.
  • Forgetting Jump exits the reporter and standing AFK in UI while an Intruder idles.
  • Opening tablet during a power-outage scramble before agreeing who runs to the basement box (Power Outage).
  • Assuming hardmode remaps keys—it usually does not; it remaps forgiveness (Hardmode).
  • Chasing nonexistent codes in menus instead of warming up binds.

Controllers and accessibility notes

Gamepad players should confirm Office flashlight on B and sprint on R1 in a safe lobby. If a bind feels unreachable, rearrange your hand posture before Church density—not mid-Vague. Hearing-impaired lobbies should lean harder on short text callouts timed with tablet opens so nobody depends on scream audio alone.

Master controls until the Report Tablet feels like a reflex. In Anomaly Detected, the horror is atmospheric—but the win condition is mechanical: see the wrongness, open the tablet, submit the right class, keep Intruders from owning the night, and hear 6 AM with your hands already free for the next shift.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What key opens the Report Tablet on House PC?

Press R on PC. On mobile, use the side on-screen button. Re-check the live Roblox description if a patch remaps inputs.

What are the Office-only controls?

Flashlight is F (gamepad B), sprint is Left Shift (gamepad R1), and Jump exits the reporter UI so you can resume coverage.

Do Church controls differ from House?

Church keeps the same reporting fantasy. The difficulty is denser rooms and faster decision pressure, not a unique combat keybind set.

Should I hold sprint on Office?

No. Use short Left Shift bursts to reach a report angle, then stop and scan. Continuous sprint hides Missing Objects and Strange Lights.

Which guide should I read with Controls?

Pair this page with How to Play and Getting Started, then Hardmode and Power Outage when those systems start wiping your lobby.
